David went for a run this morning while I took the kids for breakfast and then to the pool. It was just a large jacuzzi really and it must have been about 40 degrees. I could barely have sat in it myself never mind the kids going in. So we went back to the room then all headed up to the Gondola at the Lake Louise ski area. We rode on the chairlift which Ava loved, she said I’m just like Peppa pig! At the top the view was incredible, peak after peak of snow capped mountains with beautiful blue sky and the sun shining. Just perfect.

Ava loved seeing the snow especially when she found a snowman someone had built, which she said looked just like Olaf.
We stood at the viewpoint to get some shots and saw a guy propose to his girlfriend. Luckily she said yes. After playing in the snow for a little bit we got the chairlift back down. Sadly we didn’t see any grizzly bears despite this area being quite popular for seeing them. At the bottom we had some lunch then set off for Banff which was 56km away. The traffic getting into Banff was terrible, we had a quick stop at Bow Falls which were lovely and had planned to go to the hot springs but both kids were asleep when we arrived and annoyingly we had to sit in a traffic jam for 50 minutes to get back into town. We eventually parked and had a walk round the town, which was so busy compared to anywhere else we had been. We bought a few presents and treated ourselves to a couple of things. Trainers for David and a North Face tracksuit top for me. All the restaurants were very busy but we found a steakhouse called Saltlick where we had a gorgeous steak and Ava and Tom had spaghetti – again! We skipped dessert in there and instead went for an ice cream to a place called Cow, they had so many flavours and Ava had a strawberry sorbet, which meant one very happy little girl.
After another lovely day we set off for the hotel to get the kids, and very shortly after ourselves, into bed.
