More Seattle Adventures!

Well we slept well but were awake and waiting for the swimming pool to open at 6am! Talk about keen. Had a nice swim and then breakfast where Ava had her first American bacon and was a big fan!

Yum yum!!

We left the hotel and headed up to get the monorail to the Space Needle. The streets were really quiet so we stopped off for a quick coffee at the first ever Starbucks. There was still a bit of a queue which is crazy as you don’t need to walk more than 200 yards before finding a Starbucks in this city.

First ever Starbucks

The monorail took us to the Seattle Center where the Space Needle and the Science centre are. We got straight up to the top in the elevator to the Observation Deck. It wasn’t at all cold or windy and it was a perfect clear day. You could even see all the way out to Mount Rainier which apparently you can only see for around 90 days of the year.

The Childs hit Seattle

We used a huge touch screen computer to log the Childs family in as visitors and where we had travelled from. There’s a revolving restaurant at the top too but we thought we’d wait until a visit without the children for that.

We left the Space Needle and walked through the park to the Science centre. We probably wouldn’t have bothered visiting if we hadn’t got the CityPass but we were so glad we did as it was brilliant. There was loads for Ava to do, a little water area, dinosaur and space exhibitions.

Splashing around

We left there and walked to the Aquarium which Ava loved. They had a giant octopus, otters, seals and we all enjoyed looking round. After that it was time for fish and chips and a cup of chowder for me overlooking the Waterfront before heading home for bed.
