What a fantastic start to our holiday so far in Seattle! Arrived on time after a really good flight. The kids were both fantastic. Ava and Tom both slept for the first couple of hours of the flight. Which meant I could eat in peace. Rare! Ava played with her princesses, watched Paddington the movie and was just generally a little angel. Tom fed and slept in the bassinet off and on and it didn’t feel like 9 and a half hours at all.

We arrived to a very sunny and warm Seattle which made it look even nicer. First impressions of the city were good. The space needle looked very impressive but also the number of sky scrapers around it.
Arrived at the hotel, had a quick change and headed out into the city. The time difference meant it was around 11am when we arrived so it was going to be tough to keep going until the evening. We walked down to the waterfront and the kids both fell asleep quite quickly. We saw the Aquarium and decided to go there the next day. We bought a CityPass which included entrance to the Aquarium, a boat trip, the space needle and the science park. After the waterfront we headed up to Pike Place market. The city is really hilly which isn’t easy when your pushing a double pushchair. The market was amazing, it’s in the historical district and felt very atmospheric. Lots of fresh seafood and flowers but also stalls selling all sorts of gifts and crafts. We opted for some fish scallops and Garlic fries for me and a fish taco for David which was delicious.

Had a walk further on and saw the very first Starbucks coffee shop, but the queue was half way down the street so we decided on a local beer instead, which tasted amazing after such a long day!
With both kids awake we decided to head back to the waterfront to do the boat trip around the harbour. It was a huge boat and included a very informative guide on board. It was so calm out in the bay and wasn’t cold or windy at all. The views back to the city skyline were incredible and we saw some nice parks that we thought we’d visit later.
After the boat we headed back to the hotel as we were exhausted and Ava needed her bed. They’ve both been so well behaved all day. I’m so proud of them x
